Classic Cocktail with a Twist

Vieux Carre

Straight out of New Orleans, the Vieux Carre is a boozy, sweet, and smooth concoction made with liquors that span the globe. Every ingredient has a role in this complex cocktail, so it’s worth experiencing it both with Angel’s Envy Bourbon and our rye (just not at the same time, of course).


Vieux Carre

  • 1 oz ANGEL'S ENVY Bourbon Finished in Port Wine Barrels or ANGEL'S ENVY Rye Finished in Caribben Rum Casks
  • 1 oz Noilly Prat® Sweet Vermouth
  • 1 oz D'ussé® Cognac
  • 1 barspoon Bénédictine®
  • 2 dashes Angostura® bitters
  • 2 dashes Peychaud's® bitters
  • Add all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice.
  • Stir and strain into a coupe or over a large ice cube.
  • Garnish with a lemon peel.
  • Consider Angostura Cocoa and Creole bitters for a rounder mouthfeel.
