Classic Cocktail with a Twist

Chicago Sour

Often called a New York Sour, this cocktail was actually created in Chicago. An update on the classic Whiskey Sour, the Chicago Sour adds a float of red wine for an infusion of dry and fruity flavor (and a nice look, too).


Chicago Sour

  • 2 oz ANGEL'S ENVY Bourbon Finished in Port Wine Barrels
  • 3/4 oz fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 3/4 oz simple syrup
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 oz fruity red wine
  • Orange peel garnish
  • Add all ingredients to a mixing glass.
  • Stir for 20 seconds.
  • Strain over a big rock.
  • Express an orange peel over the glass and garnish.
  • Try Lambrusco (sparkling red wine) to add a slightly fizzy feel.
